Underworld Konnect - Word on the Street Boondocks Hoxton

Word on the Street is a monthly event, on London’s Spoken Word circuit. Blending Hip Hop culture with the British beat scene, the event has glided into its sixth month. Featuring some of the city’s freshest talent performing alongside established acts, it’s become an important part of London’s diverse art scene. The event on 2nd March featured headliners Doc Brown @Docbreezy88 and duo Poetic Pilgrimage. Doc Brown aka Ben Bailey Smith, a former member of legendary UK Hip Hop crew, Poisonous Poets, and former host of the scene-defining Deal Real jams, made a welcome and charged return to the spoken word scene. @PoeticPilgrimage - a rare act, being one of the few Muslim female outfits, bringing a refreshing perspective to issues of identity, global politics and women’s issues, inspired by their faith and legacy of their ancestors. @Jonzi D, @Yungun, @THTC, @Statemeant & Wordplay Mag, @DJShorty, @Djing was in the house too!
